BOOK REPORTS |
||||
|
Each student will be required to do five book reports this year. It is important that a student learn to write a report about what they have read. Each report will be slightly different, but generally follow the same format, and various projects will accompany each report. With each report the student should need our assistance less and less. I will send home an outline of the reports before they are due. BOOK REPORTS SCHEDULE - Dates may change with plenty of notice. OCTOBER - Report done in class with a book that I choose. This report will be simple and will help the students with the format that is expected with each report. NOVEMBER - ADVENTURE BOOK - Characters Come to Life - Create a life-size portrait of one of the characters from the book you just read. The portrait should be accompanied with a written piece that tells about the character. The piece must include information about character traits, events and adventures in the book that involve the character. JANUARY - BIOGRAPHY - Prepare written report and costume at home to bring to school and present your report. I have many biography books at school to choose from. MARCH - AWARD WINNING BOOK AND BOOK JACKET - Save a cereal box, each student will need one. MAY - MYSTERY BOOK - In the News - Create the front page of a newspaper that tells about the events and characters in the book just read. Be creative with the details, the paper may include weather reports, cartoons, ads...The title of the newspaper should be something appropriate for the book. HELPFUL HINTS 1. START READING EARLY REMEMBER THAT QUALITY COUNTS. |
