As the Music Teacher for St. Brigid's School, I would like to give you some of my goals in teaching your children.
   In the music classes, we sing a lot!  I feel this to be a great outlet for the students.  Also, each grade is learning different lessons.  Some are being taught about he History of Music, others are learning Theory, the Orchestra, various Instruments, Composers, Dancing, and how to play the recorder as a stepping stone to playing other instruments.
   Part of my job is Liturgical Music Director.  Your children practice the songs we sing at the school's monthly Masses and Prayer Services.  Since St. Augustine wrote: "Singing God's praises is praying twice", I hope to encourage better response and enthusiasm at these services.
   In conclusion, I would think that I have succeeded in my mission if the students continue to love music as adults.  They may become professional musicians, music teachers, enjoy playing an instrument, or merely appreciate listening to music in a more knowledgeable way.
